Social media certainly has its pros and cons, but when used correctly aka to benefit YOU the user, it can be an extremely valuable tool. I have personally built some incredibly supportive relationships with women all around the world that would not have been possible without social media.

Sara describes herself as a girl who took a risk. "One day I left my 9 to 5 to go out and see the world. It's been amazing. I'm still exploring and having a fantastic time, earning a living and paying my way online. It's easy, it's flexible and it's lucrative.

If there's anything we've learnt over the last decade it's that you can build your entire career off of social media and I'm not just talking about influencers.
There are so many new ways to create customer engagement, build strong relationships and revenue growth all from the palm of your hand.
Sara says, "I have managed to build a business using Instagram as my main platform, I also specialise in Facebook and Tik Tok. I had an amazing 9-5 job but one day I took a look around and knew there had to be more to life."
"I love to travel and so being able to create and scale my business from my laptop has been a dream come true. You don't need to be an influencer to live this lifestyle if I can do it, anyone can".
Finding a balance
The key in 2020 is to find a balance between being consistent, creating engaging content for your target audience and building deeper relationships with your community.
In the words of Matt Goulart, "Social media is about people, not about your business. Provide for the people and the people will provide for you."
Sara says, "it makes sense to be where your customers are, and whether that's Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, join in their conversation, introduce yourself and share. It's a great way to build loyalty to the point where they will freely and willingly tell others about you."
Using social media to benefit YOU
"Social media can take a toll on our mental health if we let it. I am very careful now when I'm on Instagram not to fall into that trap of thinking 'oh my god, why am I not there yet?' Or 'she looks amazing, why don't I?"
"No one wins when you compare yourself to others and we have to realise the numbers don't even matter or define you."
"It's really the message that you're giving to people that converts. I've helped many people make $1,000 a month as a great starting point but one of my clients is nearing the $10,000 a month mark and she's hasn't even reached her goal of 10,000 followers yet, BUT her audience is 100%
authentic" Sara explains.
"It's taken her a year to build up to that but she is consistent and always talks directly to her audience," Sara concluded.
I could never get the hang of Tik Tok but since chatting with Sara I have created five Instagram reels that are fun, engaging and hopefully show my community my mission in helping women build their self-love and body-confidence.
