Growing up I had an eating disorder and terrible anxiety and I've really seen and experienced the power that personal development gurus have on your life and want to be able to help others do the same. The power of being able to take steps towards continually developing yourself is immense.
I've learned so much over the years and I want to be able to share that with others. That's why I created Grow For It and my podcast because it gives me the ability to share other people stories as well as my own because everyone resonates with different stories.
Habits to Help You Be Successful
I don't know a successful human being who doesn't say they get up at 5 am every morning. Waking up early is a great way to get a head start on your day, but you also want to ensure you're starting your day proactively and not reactively.
You don't want to wake up and have the first thing your doing be checking your email and reacting to your emails and how can you not be stressed when that's the beginning of your day?
It's really important that you have a morning routine where you're waking up, having a glass of water and doing some sort of mediation or stretching to help your body wake up. Having a personal care routine that is helping you mentally prepare for the day is life-changing.
Take Care of Your Health
You're the thought engine to achieving your goals, and so you need to be aware of the things that you're putting in your body to ensure it's fueling your engine and you're not running yourself dry.
Fueling your body gives you the energy and the brainpower power through your day, take action on your dreams, move your body and just feel your absolute best!
Your body is your vessel to your dreams so take care of it and it will take care of you.
Invest in Your Personal Development
You're the lifeblood of your business so you need to be investing in yourself to achieve your goals because only you can get yourself there.
In a world where things are changing so rapidly, you need to be continually learning and growing. With so many people out there who are where you want to be, you can learn from them and continuously develope and better yourself to achieve your goals.
Seek out mentors that you want to be like and work hard enough to make them your colleagues.
In that same breath, remember while there are people further along than you that you can learn from, there are also people who are working towards being where you already are! There are people who you can learn from and people who you can teach.
There are people who need to hear your story and your messages so remember to invest in yourself and take action on your knowledge
Mindset Shifts to Deal with Trauma
I've recently immersed myself into a lot of personal development learnings, but I feel it started from a very young age when I developed an eating disorder.
I was really young when I was diagnosed, and so when I went to see a psychologist, I started learning a lot about personal development.
I worked really hard on my mindset, and I learnt that learning to love and cherish yourself as you are is the key to your happiness.
I use self-affirmations as a technique to pull myself out of times when I was in a negative headspace and remind myself why I matter and what's important to me.
Tips to Grow Your Confidence
Everyone visualises their business or confidence differently, and so I would recommend people take the time to think about and visualise the life they want to live. For example, if you want to build upon your confidence, envision the person you would need to become. How would you hold yourself, speak, and what would you wear?
Once you can visualise the traits of the confident person you want to become, you can start to embody those mannerisms.
Setting SMART Goals
It's also important to be setting goals for what you want to achieve. SMART goals are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely. Ensure that your goals are as specific as possible and write them down so that you have something tangible that you're working towards.
The next step would be to tell someone that goal so that you have someone rooting for you but also holding you accountable for achieving those goals.
